Speaker Joel N. Tietjens

Joel is President of T-JENS & T-JENS, INC. based in Spring (Houston), TX.  Joel is a professional speaker, seminar and workshop leader, and management consultant on safety and health management.  Joel holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Safety from the University of Central Missouri, board certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) and is a Certified Safety & Health Manager (CSHM) granted through the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM).

Joel’s company has been serving clients since 1992. He develops and delivers presentations that are motivational, humorous, and yet informative.  His clients include some of the most notable Fortune 500 companies.  His knowledge base comes from over 13 years of experience in safety management positions in the insurance, energy, industrial services, and food and beverage industries before beginning his own company.

His professional memberships include the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) and the National Safety Management Society (NSMS).  Joel is an ASSP “Society Fellow” (FASSP) awarded for superior achievement in the safety profession and two-time recipient of the “Safety Professional of the Year” award for the Gulf Coast Chapter, as well as, Region III of the American Society of Safety Professionals.  He is also an inductee to the ASSP Region III Safety Hall of Fame.  He has received the ASSP Charles V. Culbertson Outstanding Volunteer Service Award, as well as, inducted as an Honorary Member, University of Central Missouri Safety Sciences, Rho Sigma Kappa Honor Society.

Joel has twice been recognized by Industrial Safety & Hygiene News (ISHN) “Power 101” of who moves and shakes the safety world!
