Speaker Mike Truitt, ASP, Director, HSE Independence Contract Drilling
Mike began his career in HSE with nuclear and conventional weapons safety while enlisted in the US Air Force as a Munitions Systems technician in 2000. Upon separation from the Air Force in December 2005, he began working for a large chemical manufacturing company before accepting a role as an HSE Advisor in the drilling industry and later earned a degree in Occupational Health and Safety from Columbia Southern University. He is currently working towards a BS in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and holds an ASP certification through the BCSP. Mike has worked in various HSE roles in the drilling industry and is now the HSE Director for Independence Contract Drilling in Houston where he currently resides with his family.
