Speaker Amanda Dean

Amanda Dean is a Certified Safety Professional in the Oil & Gas Industry.  She began her journey into the Health & Safety field after her father suffered an amputation following a workplace injury.  She graduated from Murray State University with a Master of Science in Occupational Safety & Health.  Amanda started her career with Baker Hughes as an HSE Specialist for Field Operations in South Texas before transitioning into an HSE Manager role for Western Hemisphere Chemical Operations division.  Presently, she works for Baker Hughes corporate office, as the Global HSE Management System Leader.

Amanda began her involvement with ASSP in the student section at Murray State University, serving as Student Chapter President.  She was awarded the Scott Sewing Memorial Scholarship (sponsored by Applications International Corporation) by the ASSP Foundation in 2014.  She attended multiple conferences throughout her student years, winning a PDC poster session award for noise exposure research conducted for the Department of Defense and publishing her work in PSJ shortly after.  She currently serves as a Board Trustee for the ASSP Foundation Next Generation Board. Amanda and her husband Rob, reside in the greater Houston, Texas area with their five children.  She enjoys spending weekends at the lacrosse and soccer fields.
