Topic Celebrating Safety!
This presentation covers ways to incentivize, recognize, and reward safety in ways that promote proactive, preventative safety cultures. Starting with the core values of a proactive safety culture, the presentation then discusses practical ways to develop this proactive culture with realistic programs that won’t break even humble budgets. Within these programs, with focuses on leading indicators and proactive prevention of accidents and incidents, the presentation then discusses ways to develop and use incentives, recognition, and rewards to promote the culture, develop engagement and participation, develop leading indicator data, and develop visible results of a thriving safety culture with an engaged team.
Speaker Cory Worden
Cory Worden has worked in the development, implementation, and management of Safety, Health, Environmental, Emergency Management, and Training programs for over 15 years and has a wealth of experience in the military, manufacturing, municipal government, and healthcare. He is currently the Safety Advisor for the City of Houston Department of Health. Cory is a PhD (All but Dissertation) with a focus on Public Safety Leadership.
He holds a Master of Science in Occupational Health and Safety and is a CSHM, CSP, CHSP, ARM, REM, and CESCO. His latest books, Surviving Safety, Safety Diligence, Situational Safety, Safety Enigma, Safety Integration and Holistic, Reliable Safety were published in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2019.
