Speaker: J. Kevin Wallace, CIH, CSP

Kevin has worked in the Oil and gas industry, providing industrial hygiene support for over 29 years. He is currently the corporate industrial hygienist for SLB in Sugar Land, Texas. He is a member of the Gulf Coast Local Section of AIHA and the AIHA Exposure Assessment Committee and Real-Time Detection Systems Volunteer Groups.  He is a past president of the Gulf Coast AIHA Section and has served as chair of the Exposure Assessment Volunteer Group. Kevin has served on the faculty of Bayesian Statistics PDC and is currently the lead instructor for Fundamental Approaches to Exposure Assessment Using the AIHA Strategy and Tools. He holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Occupational Safety and Health from Murray State University.

Summary:
Accurate exposure assessments and risk decisions are critical to an effective safety and health management system.  This session will provide an overview of the AIHA Exposure Assessment model along with the AIHA Exposure Decision Analysis Registry.  Topics will include determining similar exposure groups (SEG’s) and measurement of occupational exposure.  We will explore the use of Professional judgment and the accuracy of exposure decisions using traditional and Bayesian statistical analysis tools.  Finally, participants will be introduced and challenged to complete the AIHA Exposure Decision Analysis Registry.
