Environmental Compliance Specialist

Saber Power is hiring an Environmental Compliance Specialist.

Salary range: $100-120k

The Role

  • Provide technical environmental leadership to Saber Power, LLC  operations to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Interpret federal and state environmental regulations (air, waste, water, chemicals, and transportation) and operationalize permit requirements.
  • Lead Environmental Input at Tender Stage – Act as the main point of contact for environmental matters across pre-construction, developing clear risk profiles for each opportunity.
  • Identify & Manage Environmental Risks – Highlight key constraints, required surveys, permits, and licenses, ensuring risks are understood early and managed effectively (Phase I, FEIR/FEIS)  The ability to review a SWPPP and inspect the BMPs installed per the plan.
  • Support Winning Bids – Contribute to tender submissions, presenting clear environmental strategies to clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate Across Teams – Work with commercial and planning teams to ensure environmental risks are accurately costed and programmed.
  • Drive Compliance & Best Practice – Embed the Environmental Management System (EMS) and support smooth project handovers with robust environmental data and insights.

The Candidate

  • Experienced & Knowledgeable – Previous experience in an environmental role within construction, civils or a similar environment, with a clear understanding of compliance requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of multi-media environmental regulations (e.g., air permitting, EPA, NFPA, water, TSCA, DOT).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects, prioritize competing demands, and deliver accurate, detailed work.
  • Confident communicator and leader with experience training, influencing, and coaching teams at all organizational levels.
  • Environmental Specialist – Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and ISO 14001, with experience in construction, civils, or a related sector.
  • Work-Winning Experience – Proven ability to support tenders or pre-construction activities with environmental input.
  • Acting as a Trusted Advisor – Provide practical environmental guidance to site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders, supporting confident and informed decision-making
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives that reduce risks, enhance quality, and improve environmental performance.
