Topic Industrial Hygiene Risk Assessments & Evaluations
Industrial hygiene risk assessments & evaluations to identify chemical, physical, ergonomic & biological exposures in the workplace & design controls to prevent exposure to workers. The presentation is the first in a series of presentations assisting occupational safety & health professionals to anticipate, identify, evaluate, control & report findings based on monitoring industrial hygiene exposures to mitigate risks & to prevent industrial injuries & illnesses.
Speaker David R. Lee, ARM, CIH, CSP, Senior Risk Control Consultant, Lockton Companies
David has worked with INEOS Olefins & Polymers USA, formerly BP Amoco, as their Regional Industrial Hygienist & Safety Advisor. There, INEOS Olefins & Polymers USA received the Texas Chemical Council’s Safety Awards for as the safest chemical plants in the State of Texas. Prior to INEOS, David worked for Champion Technologies, a downhole specialty chemical firm as Corporate Industrial Hygiene Advisor. He has over 24 years of experience in all aspects of safety, health, & industrial hygiene. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Safety Professional, Certified Duty-Cycle Crane Inspector, & he is both a Texas & Missouri Field Safety Representative. David specializes in risk analysis & hazard assessment, health risk assessments, occupational health, safety & health plan development, safety & health auditing, chemical hygiene plans, & management & staff training. In addition to his experience in the insurance & chemical industries, David worked six (6) years in the maritime industry as a Director of Safety, Health, & Training. David was a member of the National Maritime Safety Association, whose charter includes advisement concerning 29 CFR 1915, 1917, & 1918 regulations, & was instrumental in the development of the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) powered industrial truck operations standard for the maritime industry. David holds a MS degree in Behavioral Sciences, MS in Biological Sciences, and a BS in Allied Health Science all from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
