Topic API RP 1173 Pipeline Safety Management Systems (SMS)
This presentation will provide an overview of the API’s Pipeline SMS Third-Party Assessment Program, including the benefits of participation.
Speaker David Toth
David Toth is a Senior Associate of System Programs with the American Petroleum Institute (API) in Houston, Texas. In this role, David oversees the Pipeline Safety Management System (SMS) Third-Party Assessment Program.
Before joining API, David was a Manager of Compliance, Codes, and Standards at Kinder Morgan. He has over 15 years of experience in the energy industry. His experience includes leadership roles in oil and gas operations in the upstream and midstream sectors, emergency services, Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management, and business development. David has a Bachelor of Political Science and Sociology from the University of Texas at El Paso and a Master of Science in Environmental Policy and Management with EHS from The University of Denver.
